Drive Speed, Write
Capability
- 52X/32X/52X speed
- All writing modes
- Focus disturbance detection
- Flexible write strategies
- ExacWrite™ buffer underrun protection
|
Industry-leading speed with choice
of write modes (CLV, ZCLV, PCAV, CAV with embedded
PLL).
Write media of widely varying quality using
conventional (CD-R/RW) and 2T (CD-RW Ultra-Speed) write
strategies with 1/32T resolution, plus dynamic write
strategy for adaptive pulse control. Firmware can
reduce write speed on detection of focus
disturbance. Optimum laser control is achieved via
automated OPC and running OPC (ROPC).
Underrun detection and exact restart means
smaller buffers and lower cost. |
Interface
Flexibility
- ATAPI-5 compliant interface with optional
interface mirroring
- 16, 64 and 128 Mb SDRAM buffer
configurations
- DC and Stepper motor support
|
Host-side interface supports Ultra
DMA Mode 5, PIO Mode 4 and Multi-word DMA Mode 2.
Interface mirroring eases PCB layout.
Flexible
SDRAM configurations enable low-cost drives.
Stepper motor allows fine sled positioning. |
Firmware
- Mt. Rainier (CD-MRW) support
- Runtime FW updates
|
Mt. Rainier improves the CD-RW user
experience.
Embedded ARM7 processor supports easy
firmware updates for recognition of new media. |
Ease of Design
- All major tracking schemes
- Runout compensation
- Advanced C1/C2 error correction
- Focus drop protection
- Multiple power control options
|
Supports all major OPUs: one-beam,
three-beam, DPP, DPD.
High eccentricity (210um at
6000rpm) runout compensation and flexible C1/C2
error correction for reading poor quality media.
OPU protection against focus drop and multiple
power control options save PCB components. |
High Integration
Value
- Integrated high-performance AFE
- Embedded ARM7 Processor
- Integrated 12kB SRAM
- 216 LQFP Package
|
Integrated AFE tightly coupled to
controller core, reduces PCB space.
32-bit ARM7
accessing internal 32-bit SRAM bus at 45 Mips with
no wait states for time-critical code execution.
High density low-cost LQFP package, with larger
package available for firmware development. |
